Gustav Aftermath: JPS restoration update

The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) said power has been restored to about 92 percent of its customers.

Communications Officer at the JPS, Ruthlyn Johnson, said access to several areas has been a major challenge in completing its work.

She said the power company is working with the National Work Agency (NWA) in a bid to restore power to all its customers.

Ms. Johnson is warning customers against attempting to reconnect electrical power themselves.

She is urging customers to wait until JPS carries out the repairs
