Tropical Storm Kyle is gaining strength as it swirls in the open Atlantic, southwest of Bermuda.

Forecasters said Kyle’s maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 miles per hour since early this morning.

They said the storm could become a hurricane by tomorrow.

A tropical storm watch has been issued for Bermuda.

Meteorologists said Kyle formed out of an area of disturbed weather that doused the eastern and western Caribbean over the past week.
