Laura moves Northward toward the North Atlantic

At 5.00 a.m. the centre of subtropical storm Laura was located near latitude 40.3 degrees north and longitude 49.0 degrees west or about 787 kilometres south-southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland.
 
The storm is moving toward the north at nearly 20 km/h and a gradual turn towards the north-northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected over the next day or two.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 95 km/h, with higher gusts. A gradual weakening is forecast during the next couple of days.
 
Laura is not a threat to Jamaica
