Tropical Storm Marco nears the Coast of Mexico

At 4.00 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Marco was located near latitude 20.1 degrees north and longitude 96.1 degrees west or about 170 kilometres southeast of Tuxpan, Mexico.
Marco is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue today. On this forecast track, the centre will be very near the coast of Mexico within the warning area by late this morning.
Maximum sustained winds have remained near 100 km/h, with higher gusts. Some strengthening is possible this morning and Marco could be near hurricane strength when it reaches the coast.
Tropical Storm Marco is not a threat to Jamaica.
