* Treasury: Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL)
  • Provide support in the effective management of the Treasury & Trading operations of the firm
  • Management of the firm's Treasury functions to achieve agreed Asset & Liability Management (ALM), liquidity, funding and investment targets
  • Ensuring the generation of maximum profitability at minimum risk
  • Managing the assigned portfolios of the firm's investment, funding and liquidity activities to achieve optimum funding positions, while profitably employing surplus funds
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements as well as the firm's risk management framework
  • Processing all trading and transactions in accordance with prevailing Treasury Risk Management policies and practices
  • Analyzing each position, considering the risk as well as its reward potential, prior to the execution of transactions
  • Ensuring adequate, accurate and timely provision of returns and reports to facilitate the efficient and effective management of the firm's treasury functions.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory changes in order to assist in enhancing existing policies and procedures
  • Driving the day-to-day achievement of portfolio growth in accordance with the firm's Profit Plan and Business Plan objectives.
  • Maintaining ongoing business relationships with past, existing and prospective customers and key personnel in other institutions
Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Finance, Economics or a related professional designation
  • Completion of the Jamaican Securities Course
  • Licensed with the Financial Services Commission
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Thorough knowledge of funding and investment operations, products and trading activities
  • Thorough understanding of financial markets, business environments and competitive trends, as well as, working knowledge of related regulations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate market trends
