| Description: |
* Treasury and Trading: Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL) - Responsible for the development, leadership and day-to-day management of the firm's treasury and trading operations
- Designing and executing strategies in achieving optimum profitability, while managing the associated risks within the firm's established risk management framework
- Responsible for the firm's investment, funding and liquidity activities to achieve an optimum funding position
- Monitoring daily positions to minimize the effect of adverse conditions
- Profitably employing surplus funds
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirement as well as the firm's risk management framework
- Responsible for the firm's securities trading activities
- Managing the assigned Securities Trading and Investment portfolios
- Providing active market making for institutional, broker dealers and retail clients
- Executing strategic and tactical trading positions on the firm's behalf to maximize trading revenues within the firm's risk management framework
- Responsible for the firm's various foreign currency positions to achieve optimum results
- Authorizing exchange rates/transactions as applicable
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and established limits
- Responsible for the firm's stockbrokerage operations with primary emphasis on the growth, development and diversification of the client base, so as to attain commission and other fee income in line with the firm's strategic objectives
- Responsible for the management of the assigned proprietary equity portfolio of the firm
- Providing active market making for institutional and retail clients across the branch network, as well as broker-dealers

| Qualifications: |
- Masters Degree in Finance, Economics or an equivalent professional qualification (CFA Charter holder- strongly preferred)
- Licensed with the Financial Services Commission
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Treasury and/or Trading in a managerial capacity
- Thorough knowledge of Treasury, Trading and Stockbrokerage management
- Strong grasp of the local and international financial markets and instruments, derivatives, and other tools used in the management of a treasury and trading operation
- Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective business relationships with clients and prospective clients
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate market trends
