| Description: |
- Participates in the implementation of the corporate communications strategy
- Design, management and implementation of the Country Office communications strategy, geared towards influencing the development agenda
- Promote public and media outreach and mobilize political and financial support for UNDP.
- Preparation of statements/speeches/Op-Eds and other public statements for the Resident Representative.
- Maintains a working relationship with the Regional Communications Manager.
- Works in close collaboration with the Resident Coordinators Office, Programme and Operations teams, staff of other UN Agencies, UNDP HQs staff (Communications Office) ensuring successful UNDP communication strategy implementation.
- Planning of internal and external strategies for communications and outreach
- Implementation of the communications strategies and plans
- Supervision of the design and maintenance of the UNDP web site, intranet
- Support to business development
- Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing

| Qualifications: |
- Masters degree in media relations, journalism, publishing, communications. Development/international relations related degree is an asset.
- 3 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in public relations, communications or advocacy.
- Strong researching, writing and editing skills for print and electronic media.
- Experience in social networking platforms such as Twitter and Facebook and an understanding of internet communications strategies, blogging best practice, social media trends, techniques and information architecture is desirable.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, good knowledge and experience in handling of web-based management systems.
- Fluency in English
- Should be capable of working with people of different national and cultural backgrounds
