Communications Analyst : Careers

Participates in the implementation of the corporate communications strategy
Design, management and implementation of the Country Office communications strategy, geared towards influencing the development agenda
Promote public and media outreach and mobilize political and financial support for UNDP.
Preparation of statements/speeches/Op-Eds and other public statements for the Resident Representative.
Maintains a working relationship with the Regional Communications Manager.
Works in close collaboration with the Resident Coordinators Office, Programme and Operations teams, staff of other UN Agencies, UNDP HQs staff (Communications Office) ensuring successful UNDP communication strategy implementation.
Planning of internal and external strategies for communications and outreach
Implementation of the communications strategies and plans
Supervision of the design and maintenance of the UNDP web site, intranet
Support to business development
Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing

Masters degree in media relations, journalism, publishing, communications. Development/international relations related degree is an asset.
3 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in public relations, communications or advocacy.
Strong researching, writing and editing skills for print and electronic media.
Experience in social networking platforms such as Twitter and Facebook and an understanding of internet communications strategies, blogging best practice, social media trends, techniques and information architecture is desirable.
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, good knowledge and experience in handling of web-based management systems.
Fluency in English
Should be capable of working with people of different national and cultural backgrounds
