Training and Development Coordinator

Description:
  • Responsible for the Training and Development components within the National Irrigation Commission Limited (NIC) and the National Irrigation Development Programme (NIDP).
  • Develop and implement training and development programmes, activities and services to meet the training needs of staff and project beneficiaries, including: The design of training manuals.; Creating and setting up periodic Seminars and Workshops for staff and end users at the Water Users Associations (WUAs)
  • Plan training events outside of regular Agency programmes
  • Train all department personnel in contemporary training methods.
  • Develop quality lead personnel in the WUAs.
  • Design and conduct the training and development need analysis
  • Analyze programme results as required by the NIDP to enhance training effectiveness
  • Provide guidance to Directors and Managers in determining training needs, career plans, job coaching and succession training.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Science or equivalent
  • Professional Training/Certification in Human Resource Development/Training Management or Adult Learning Systems
  • At least 5 years experience working in the Human Resource Development/Training field at a senior level.
  • Familiarity with HR Information System and methodologies would be an asset
  • Sound knowledge of Training and Development Techniques
  • Excellent management skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
