| Description: |
- Designs, implements and evaluates projects and where appropriate, develops partnerships with external researchers to undertake related youth development work/s.
- Investigate grant opportunities, write and develop grant proposals to support and promote the sustainability of the NYS.
- Manages the varied projects processes arising from multi-sectoral partnerships with local and international agencies.
- Formulate incisive project proposals inclusive of the budget and cost benefit analysis for the new Service Learning Mandate and for all educational, social services and customized Corps/Projects.
- Manages the curricula development and design for the re-socialisation and attitude based portfolio of the new Service Learning Mandate in association with the HEART Trust NTA, Jamaica Foundation for Life Long Learning and related consultancies.
- Provides critical technical support to the Programmes Unit that will succinctly guide the transformational policy based on emerging programmes initiative of the NYS and Ministries.
- Strategically foster and maintains matrix relations with the relevant international, regional, local partners and stakeholders in order to raise the profile and credibility of NYS programs and increase the NYS’s involvement in government policy development.
- Assist with the organization, co-ordination, implementation and monitoring of the overall development of all National Youth Service Corps programmes and emerging activities within the vision of the re-positioned NYS.
- Facilitates the enhancement of participants’ personal development the identification and creation of career/educational opportunities and the inculcation of positive work ethics and values and attitudes and
- Contribute to the overall productivity, strategic planning, management and development of the National Youth Service.

| Qualifications: |
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work/ Education/ a related Science Discipline
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in a senior supervisory/managerial position
- The ability to demonstration professional responsibility and knowledge in fulfilling the position requirements.
- The ability to be proactive in identifying and implementing strategies which will enhance the effectiveness of the services offered by the re-positioned NYS.
- The ability to manage efficiently all projects processes from the development and implementation stages to the appraisal stage.
- The ability to evaluate and design curricula and programmes that simultaneously meets the needs of individual participants, individual stakeholders and the group as a whole.
- The ability to create a working environment in which subordinate are encouraged to maximize their efforts and levels of efficiency.
- The ability to respond creatively to the demands of public policy and other external stimuli as it relates to the development, improvement and management of programmes/services of the NYS.
- The ability to assimilate and analyse information from a variety of sources and recommend or implement appropriate action or policies.
- The ability to effectively manage one’s time in a situation of competing demands so as to meet deadlines.
- The ability to facilitate/foster and maintain close collaboration and relationships between potential international partners, private agencies in support of the re-positioned NYS.
- The ability to effect change.
- The ability to function effectively and efficiently in a stressful environment.
- The ability to function on own initiative.
