Credit Officer : Careers

Carrying out a wide range of lending activities within authorized limits and managing a portfolio of loans, ensuring that past due accounts are promptly dealt with and that the Bank’s exposure is minimized.
Monitoring loan disbursements to ensure that these are supported by proper documentation and registration of all security.
Conducting regular review of credit files and preparing reports of findings of deficiencies and outline actions to be taken.
Monitoring due and past due loans to ensure prompt collection

First degree in Management Studies, Finance, Economics or equivalent with a minimum at least three (3) years experience in credit appraisals
Detailed knowledge of consumer lending practices and credit analysis
Thorough knowledge of the Banking Act and Bank of Jamaica regulations regarding credit classification, provisioning and non-accrual requirements
Strong negotiating, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to effectively assess lending risks and make relevant recommendations
Ability work well under pressure and in a fast pace environment
Excellent interpersonal skills – the ability to work effectively with customers and successfully handle complaints
Ability to understand and deal with customers’ individual needs and requirements
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
