* Final Accounts
  • Responsible for the preparation of the consolidated accounts of the Ministry and all its departments 
  • Responsible for the timely submission of accurate and complete monthly and annual financial statements to the Auditor General and the Financial Secretary 
  • Day to day supervision of the Final Accounts Unit.
Qualifications:
  • First Degree in Accounting or Management with Accounting major or;
  • Equivalent Education Training and experience plus; - Government Accounting Level 2 Modules 1-5. Plus the new Level 3 (Diploma  in Government Accounting);
  • Eight (8) years’ experience at the Professional Accountant level
  • Good grasp of and working knowledge of GOJ regulations related to public sector financial accounting.
  • Skilled in the operation of GOJ Financial Management Systems and in the use of Microsoft Office and its Applications
  • Excellent planning, organizing and problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership, motivational, team building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work well and to meet deadlines under pressured working conditions
