  • Work to ensure good corporate governance of the affairs of St. John reflects intergity and accountability
  • Recruit, develop and mobilize appropriate staff community leaders and volunteers
  • Undertake appropriate planning of projects and programmes to facilitate timely Board approvals
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
  • Develop guidelines and procedures for hiring, superviing and evaluating staff
  • Establish and maintain an effective orientation programmes for all new personnel
  • Develop and montior compliance with established work place ethics and standards for performance evaluation
  • Facilitate training and continuing education programmes
  • Chair regularly scheduled Department Heads meetings and all staff meetings as required
  • Evaluate, plan, and develop strategies for the effective implementation of St. John's programmes
  • Carry out administrative duties appropriate for this executive post
  • A strong belief in the vision and mission of St. John Ambulance
  • The ability to inspire and motivate persons in diverse positions and circumstances
  • Good administrative credentials and experience
  • Expertise in developing programmes in first aid, diasaster relief and training
  • Experience with managing people in a collaborative organization
  • Experience with fund raising
  • Experience with teaching/skill building
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • The ability to develop and implement technology-based solutions
  • Experience working with a diverse staff and community
  • A strong commitment to corporate and personal integrity
  • The appropriate academic qualification in a related field
