General Manager

  • Working closely with the board of directors to implement the strategy and manage operations
  • Providing leadership and management to staff to achieve effective and efficient use of the organizationís resources, ensuring congruence between the strategic and operational plans
  • Planning and coordinating special activities including local & international tours and fundraising events
  • Conducting performance evaluation of direct reports
  • Identifying , developing and implementing programmes as may be required
  • Monitoring expenditure and initiating appropriate measures to contain expenses and respond to audit queries.
  • Accountability for the financial management of key revenue streams
  • Identifying opportunities for the association particularly in the area of garnering funds for sponsorship
  • Implementing the strategic programmes to increase viability and visibility of the organization
  • Ensure that all pertinent information is disseminated to the various stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Provide detailed monthly reports to the President and attend all Board meetings
  • Business degree or equivalent professional qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Three to five years experience in a senior administrative leadership or similar capacity
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical, organizational time management and problem solving skills
  • Team player
  • Well developed leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, word processing spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
