Description:
* Telecommunications Systems 
  • Research international best practices and advise on issues relating to spectrum management policy and the use of new wireless technologies
  • Ensures that the Authority is able to facilitate the use of future technologies and the licensing of the spectrum for deployment of new services.
  • Facilitates technological innovations in wireless communication being brought to market in harmony with other existing services.
  • Identifies best practices for the introduction of new technologies based on standards established by regional and international organizations (such as the ITU and CITEL).
  • Provides strategic support to the Spectrum Engineering Division to ensure band planning facilitates the use of future technologies.
  • Formulates detailed study plans to assess the available wireless technologies and develop recommendations which will create the regulatory framework for spectrum users to obtain maximum benefits from the use of these technologies.
  • Inform policy decisions as it relates to new technology and services.
  • Researches, analyses and records the effects of new technologies on economic and industrial growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelorís Degree in Engineering with an emphasis on Telecommunications and at least three (3) years experience or training in Policy Formulation/Research Methodology. OR
  • Bachelorís Degree in the Social Sciences with an emphasis on Policy Formulation or Research Methodology, and at least three (3) yearsí experience in a Telecom or Regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local and international wireless communication environment.
  • A high level of proficiency in the use of computer applications and analytical tools for economic analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
