ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

JN Fund Managers Limited is a Primary Dealer and Licensed Securities Dealer offering a wide range of financial options tailored to suit both corporate and individual investors. JN Fund Managers is a subsidiary of The Jamaica National Group Limited, a premier provider of financial and other services in Jamaica and internationally. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the role of Assistant Manager-Accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the management of the Accounting Department and the financial affairs of the company. This position is also responsible for analyzing and reporting business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and additional obligations to project future revenue expenses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the documentation of operational and accounting control procedures to facilitate the effective operations of the accounting department
Manage the financial accounts of the organization and prepare the requisite schedules
Manage the submission of the Company's statutory returns and regulatory reports
Prepare the Company's budget and interim financial statements as well as the accounting reports for management decision making and board submissions
Supervise the reconciliation of the Company's investment portfolio and bank statements
Set standards for direct reports, monitor their progress and evaluate outcomes related to the Accounts Department

Qualifications:

BSc in Accounting
ACCA or CPA Certification
Minimum of 5 years accounting experience including 2 years at the supervisory level
Work experience in an audit firm and in the financial sector would be a plus
Sound working knowledge of Microsoft office particularly MS Word and Excel
Sound working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Sound knowledge of the Pension and Financial Services industry
