Main responsibilities include:

Providing technical and operational support for the systems software of the central computers (AS/400).
Monitoring and supporting technology platforms including Windows Server (hardware, operating systems), networks Directory Services, DNS, VMWare.
Managing Windows Servers and supporting network infrastructure and services to ensure integrity, security, compliance, and availability.
Maintaining systems backup and business recovery plans in a state of readiness.
Acting as a resource to applications teams to resolve technical issues.
Managing and maintaining well-documented backup and recovery procedures.
Managing the helpdesk support team. 


A BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or any other related discipline.
Minimum five years of progressive experience in administering IBM AS400 system upgrades.
Proficiency in system debugging and analysis and hands-on experience with AS400 system upgrades.
Managed an environment with Windows Server 2008 and 2012 servers.
Knowledge and participation in disaster recovery exercises.
Performed daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and reviewing system and application logs.
Provided server maintenance and installation, desktop deployment and maintenance, and end user support.
Managed and created active directory accounts, network shares, and printing services. The position further requires that the incumbent keeps abreast of technological offerings in the computer industry. The ideal candidate should have highly developed leadership skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups within the organization, as well as with contractors.
