Applications are invited from suitably, qualified persons to fill the vacancy which will arise January 2, 2018 for the following position. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend short courses and seminars for professional development
• Develop appropriate methods for course delivery and assessment
• Evaluate and utilize a variety of instructional techniques so that his/her students may have opportunity to explore these techniques in their own pedagogic development
• Perform core lecturing tasks, such as: preparing course outlines, setting of examination questions, marking assignments, providing formal and informal feedback to students, and record keeping.
• Supervise students on practicum, and developing strategies to enhance the student teaching/learning process.
• Teach/lecture courses as assigned
• Attend classes on time as set out by the College timetable
• Function as part of a team in the delivery of an integrated teaching programme within the institution
• Enhance teaching profile of the institution through research and publication on teacher education
• Participate in faculty meetings, and serve on committees
• Participate in regular assessment of the relevant areas of the established curriculum with a view to continued development of content and advancement in teaching methodology
• Attend Ministry of Education, Joint Board of Teacher Education, and other stakeholders meetings.
• Assists in the assessment and tracking of the students’ performance and progress • Attend vetting and moderation meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with College policies, procedures and protocols
• Develop a teaching portfolio/profile
• Conduct herself/himself in such a manner that will provide positive role models for students to emulate.
• Abide by the Code of Regulations and Manual of Certification of the Joint Board of Teacher Education.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Department, Vice Principals, Principal or the Principal’s designee. 

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Competent in technology integration in Teaching Mathematics 

Qualifications: • Masters Degree in Mathematics
• Bachelors Degree in Physics & Chemistry
• Diploma in Secondary Education (Mathematics /Science)
• A minimum of 5 years teaching experience
• Candidates with a PhD. Degree in Mathematics would be
