Description: Factories Corporation of Jamaica, a portfolio Corporation of the Ministry of Economic Growth and job creation, is looking for an experienced Director of Finance ( Finance Director) to oversee all financial aspects of business and drive the company's financial strategy and planning. The incumbent is responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments. The goal is to guide the company towards  profitability and long term success.

Skills and Key Competencies
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial accounting software (Great Plans would be an asset) 
  • Knowledge of FAA Act; PBMA Act and the Government of Jamaica Procurement Guidelines 
  • Proactive Project Manager with capabilities to plan ahead, so as to achieve excellence
  • Ability to keep staff motivated and focused
  • Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written formats
  • Demonstrate ability to organizing people to produce timely and pertinent reports on a regular basis
  • Well-developed management skills
Summary of Duties

The incumbent has overall the responsibility for planning, accounting, and financial management and investment functions of Factories Corporation of Jamaica Limited (FCJ). The key functions include:
  • Driving the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risk
  • Retain constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to prevent problems
  • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel
  • Manage relationships with partners and investors
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly and annual basis
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws, policies and guidelines
  • Directing/developing long and short term plans to advance the fiscal position of the Corporation
  • Formulating policies and procedures to ensure the protection and maximum utilization of the organization's assets
  • Managing the sales and expenditure budgets and monitoring the attainment of sales objectives with budgets 
  • Sourcing and procuring funds to adequately finance the projects and programmes undertaken by the Corporation
  • Provision of support to outstations in managing their financial affairs
  • Provision of technical advice to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director and Managers on corporate financial matters
  • MBA/MSC Degree in Finance; CPA, ACCA or any other relevant qualifications
  • Project Management Experience
  • Minimum of 10-15 years experience in financial management accounting - 10 of which should be at a senior position in a public organization
