The National Solid Waste Management Authority is a Statutory Body, established under the National Solid Waste Management Act, 2001
to manage and regulate private and public solid waste collection and disposal in Jamaica.
IT SYSTEMS MANAGER

Description: The It Systems Manager is responsible to guide the organization in respect of appropriate technologies to be utilized in each area of operation, and to support the islandwide operation in respect of networking for all key business processes; also to provide support to the organization through the proper utilization of its existing hardware and software support, and to guide the acquisition and implementation for further systems in the most effective and prudent manner in the best interest at all.

Desired Competencies     
  • Strong technical and trouble-shooting skills
  • Proficient in Windows Desktop and Windows Server Operating Systems 
  • Knowledge of WAN and LAN techniques and best practices 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to managing external relationships
  • Preparing functional specifications 
  • Analyze, document and propose IT solutions for business operations
  • Troubleshoot, Build, Repair and Maintain Computer hardware and software
  • Knowledge of programming languages and best security practices 
  • Maintain websites and technical documentation 
Qualifications:
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Masters Degree in Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
  • At least three years experience in Managerial level with supervisory responsibility for the work of others
  • Minimum of five years working experience in Information Technology
