Director, Information & Communication Technology (MIS/IT 6)

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring accessibility to information systems requirements, determining and implementing optimal solutions to meet those requirements as well as planning, directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the IT Department and coordinating the maintenance development and acquisition off all IT systems and hardware campus-wide to meet both academic and business needs. 

  1.  Develops strategies to ensure data security and integrity of the organization's network and computers systems.
  2. Develops, evaluates and administers computer operations including systems support and maintenance of exiting computer-based information systems and lead the implementation of new systems
  3. Guides the design and development of information systems based on user needs and available resources 
  4. Performs ICT strategic planning by determining long and short range computer based information management and processing needs; recommend goals, objectives, programmes and schedule to meet these goals, prepare budget and resources requirements for identified projects 
  5. Formulates and implements policies in support  of instructional and administrative software and hardware as well as telecommunications
  6. Conducts periodic long and short range studies to analyze the adequacy of information systems and the quality of present services and make recommendations for improvement 
  7. Manages ICT and business process alignment by procuring relevant and appropriate technology in keeping with the College's goal and monitor these systems effectiveness in meeting needs of users (students staff)

Basic Salary (Range) - $1,758,169.00 - $2,089,910.00 per annum
Travelling (non-taxable) - $707,448 per annum ( with motor vehicle)
                                          $ 286,536 per anuum (without motor vehicle)
  • BSc Degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
  • Training in/exposure to Supervisory Management techniques/principles 
  • Certification in one or more of the following ( or a closely related certification): CISCO Certified Network Association (CCNA); Microsoft Certifies System Engineer (MCSE), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP
  • Experience in the analysis of user requirements and the design and implementation of computer-based and electronic systems
  • Six to nine years related experience with three years at senior level
  • Training in Project Management
  • Expert knowledge of systems design, computer programming, maintenance, implementation  
  • Expert knowledge of systems implementation and data security
  • Comprehensive knowledge of report writing
  • Good planning, organizing and analytical skills
  • Good negotiation skills (in relation to suppliers/vendors of computer equipment
