The South East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health, with responsibility for the management and delivery of Public Health Services within the parishes of Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Catherine, and St. Thomas invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Social Worker Coordinator.

Job Purpose

The officer will be responsible for activities that will contribute to the achievement of the stated Programme and Regional objectives. He/She will collaborate with the Regional and Parish Medical Coordinators and provide
efficiency in the coordination, implementation and monitoring of social work and associated priorities of the HIV/STI/Tb programme to ensure that policies and guidelines are followed towards achieving Programme objectives.

The incumbent will also be tasked with the responsibility of supporting social workers, clinicians and other treatment site team members and implement new approved social work modalities when required.

Required Qualification & Experience

First degree in Social Work or Psychology
At least four (4) years experience as a Social worker in HIV/STI/Tb
A satisfactory work performance record
Training in administration and supervision, or
Any combination of training, qualification and experience recognized by the Ministry of Health

Must demonstrate:

High level of confidentiality
The ability to create an enabling environment for all clients accessing care
