The post holder must be an accountant and/or an insolvency practitioner with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in accountancy and insolvency/liquidation, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role. While not mandatory, extensive knowledge of the applicable laws, including the Companies Act 1981, the Companies (Winding-Up) Rules 1982, the Bankruptcy Act 1989, and the Bankruptcy Rules 1990, is highly recommended. The Postholder must be qualified accountant with full membership in an internationally recognized professional body (e.g., Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Certified General Accountants, or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and eligible for membership with the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Bermuda. Alternatively, candidates may possess a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline with a specialization in insolvency, or a Law Degree with a focus on insolvency. Consideration will also be given to applicants who hold a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field along with seven (7) years of relevant experience in accountancy and insolvency/liquidation, including two (2) years of supervisory experience in insolvency. A Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency, obtained by passing the Joint Insolvency Examinations Board examinations, is highly desirable. This post is offered on a three-year contract.
