Interview : does this word get you weak in your knees, tongue tied and palms sweating. Getting through an interview is critical to get the job that you aspire for. Presenting a series on - a winning interview.
Interviewee checklist Before you go and face the interview you need to do some groundwork and run a checklist. Have you prepared for the interview by studying the types of questions asked? Have you done your research on the company Have you found out the appropriate dress to wear Are you familiar with the traits interviewers look for? Do you have career goals? Have you determined how you can benefit the company? Have you studied the company's job requirements? Are you knowledgeable about the industry in which you plan to work for? Are you keeping records of you interviews? Did you write a follow up letter? What do you have to do? Research the company/ job before the interview Plan your approach Make most of your resume/ application Maximize your skills and background Make the best possible first impression Feel at ease participating in the interview Pay attention ' listen/ look for cues and clues Use communication skills to sell yourself Find out about the company/ department, their policies and practices Use your references to the best advantage Convey your interest in the company and the job Discuss in the interview special consideration, such as talent, handicap Relate your education and training to the job requirements Make effective decisions during the interview Accept gracefully, being turned down or getting the job offer Follow up after the interview Next week what employers look for.
