CARIMAC Summer School to start June 4

The Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC) at the University of the West Indies celebrates the 25th instalment of its summer school programme this year with new additions to its annual line-up.

The programme features seminars and short courses that are media and communication orientated, combining old favourites such as Public Relations and Radio Announcing and Presentation with new courses in Short Feature Production for Television and Intellectual Property and Business Law.

This year’s line-up boasts over 20 courses grouped in seven areas: Media Management; Radio, TV and Film; Writing Techniques, Journalism and Publishing; Public Speaking and Media Relations; Photography and the Internet; Communication and; the Mind, Movies and Money.

The courses target a wide spectrum of persons including media and communication professionals as well as people with no prior experience in the industry. Some courses are aimed specifically at people working in health, marketing, and community relations; and lower and middle management in the public and private sectors.

CARIMAC Summer School begins on June 4 and runs until August 25. More information about this year’s courses, fees and schedule are available on www.summerschool.carimac.com
