Go-Local Jamaica
Go-Local Jamaica now covers community news for every parish. For the latest news on what's happening in your area check out this site. Remember if you have anything you want to share with your local community you can post it here for them all to see. Go-Local Jamaica is two years old and was launched to showcase the positive work we do in our local communities. It celebrates the beauty of each parish and people all over the Island who work to keep Jamaica together as the Island of 'One Love'. http://www.golocaljamaica.com
Pieces of the Past: Katherine Dunham Matriarch of Modern Dance
Now 93 years old, Katherine Dunham's life is the stuff of legend. Widely recognized as the matriarch of black American dance, in the 1930s Dunham skillfully blended the discipline of cultural anthropology with the medium of dance to create an entirely new form of movement. She is just one of the many features we currently have online that explore Jamaica's past. It is a great learning resource for adults and children alike. If you don't believe me take a look.
