Pieces of the Past - The Arrivals of the Germans
"As soon as we disembarked, a man who was on the shore came to welcome us in a most polished manner in the German language; he invited us to return home with him. A German in Jamaica? Yes, my dear child, there are Germans all over the world."

Go-Local Jamaica.com - Blacks Have Come A Long Way
In this modern society it is hard to believe that at some point in time black people were not allowed to legally read and write. I have no choice but to consider this opportunity to communicate with you a luxury and an example of how far we have come as a 'Black Society'.
We have more than excelled in most white dominated areas and have proven that we are extremely resilient both physically and mentally. Many of us are happy to have been born in this era. An era where it is socially acceptable for us to have interracial marriages and the offspring not rejected by both races. Such indications of racial acceptability bolster our claim that we are indeed a far way from where we started. Although this is true, we as a race must understand that this fight is yet to be won or taken to a point of acceptable measure.

Jamaica Star - Born Again Killer
Cross... Angry... Miserable... Not any more. Bounty Killer has a new philosophy. He is no longer the arrogant 21 year-old deejay who spat gun lyrics at will and lashed out at anyone who dared to cross his path. The notorious deejay has made some changes in his life.
In a WEEKEND STAR exclusive, Bounty Killer has stated that after his decade and more in Jamaica's turbulent dancehalls, he is changing his attitude, lyrics, approach, and point of view for this year. Read more and have your say at http://jamaicastar.com/thestar/20040305/ent/ent1.html
@ Go-Jamaica - Historic Pictorial Of Jamaica
When Go-Jamaica launched its eCommerce service to its clients many, many years ago. The first client to sign up was Donald Lindo, Genealogist and Photographer. He has remained with the company since then and has been very pleased with the responses to his genealogy CD. This week Mr. Lindo has launched a dynamic CD, which captures the beauty of Jamaica in a historical pictorial.
The CD which contains more than 500 pictures will take you through the 19th to the 21st centuries in Jamaica. There are reproductions of paintings by eminent artists and photographers such as James Hakewill, Adolphe Duperfly and Archie Lindo.
The author of this collection has been an active photographer for the past 50 years and a large section has been devoted to pictures taken by him over this period. An island tour takes you through every parish of the island and you will see many places that no longer exist. There is a description of how each parish got its name and several other notes of interest.
