Zeeks found guilty

After almost 2 and a half hours of deliberation by a 12-member jury, Mathews Lane resident Donald “Zeeks” Phipps was this afternoon found guilty on two counts of murder in the Home Circuit court.

Sentencing has been set for April 20.

Phipps has been on trial since March 6 for the double murder of Rodney Leroy Farquharson and Dayton Williams, both of Bayshore Park, Eastern Kingston.

The jury retired at 3 ‘ o clock this afternoon.

A heavy military and police team has been maintaining patrol outside the Home circuit court in Downtown Kingston where the trial is being held.

Phipps has been on trial since March 6 for the double murder of Rodney Leroy Farquharson and Dayton Williams, both of Bayshore Park, Eastern Kingston.

The burnt bodies with gunshot wounds to the heads were found in an open lot on Rose Lane, Downtown Kingston on April 15 last year.

Phipps has given an unsworn statement in which he said he was innocent of the charges.
