Munster Road gun find case to return to court March 17
The four persons implicated in the gun and ammunition seizure on Munster Road in East Kingston today had their case put off in the Gun Court until next Wednesday, March 17.
They’re Sergeant Russell Robinson, businessman Garnett Pennington and civilian workers at the Police Armoury, Charles Morris and David Blagrove.
The bail application was postponed after the lawyers for the accused said that they were only today provided with statements from witnesses.
As a result, the attorneys indicated that they will need time to examine the documents.
When the case is again mentioned applications for bail are expected to be filed.
The four were arrested after a police patrol team searched a house on Mountain View Avenue in eastern St Andrew early last month.
The police say they discovered 18 firearms and almost 10,000 rounds of ammunition.
A further 600 rounds of ammunition was found at a business place on Mountain View Avenue believed to be occupied by the owner of the premises on Munster Road.
Sergeant Robinson, Morris and Balgrove are each facing 18 counts of illegal possession of firearm and one count of illegal possession of ammunition.
While Pennington has been charged with one count of illegal possession of firearm and one count of illegal possession of ammunition. |
