Teacher dies from suspected Dengue fever

The Gleaner Power 106 News has learnt that a teacher from Knox College in Manchester, Jamaica has died from complications related to what hospital sources have suspected to be dengue fever.

Our news centre understands that the teacher died in the Mandeville Hospital on Wednesday night.

The teacher’s death resulted in a disruption in classes at the college yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Councilor for the Spalding Division, Richard Azan says he has asked the public health personnel in the parish to investigate at least two other cases of the illness.

When contacted, the acting medial officer of health for Clarendon, Dr. Earl Wright said he was unable to confirm that the teacher’s death was a result of dengue fever.
