The defence team for confessed gangster, Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke is hoping to unearth forensic and other evidence which will disprove the statements of a witness who testified in Coke’s evidentiary hearing yesterday.

Coke’s former lieutenant, Jermaine 'Cowboy' Cohen, who is jailed in America, was on the witness stand for more than three hours.

He testified that Dudus was a brutal man who tried to kill him and recounted instances in which he said Coke killed or ordered the deaths of persons.

But one of Coke’s attorneys, Stephen Rosen, has sought to discredit the testimony given by Cohen.

And he says the team will be seeing if Cohen’s testimony will be backed up by available evidence.

The hearing is expected to continue today with cross-examination from Dudus’ defence team.
