NWC systems low due to dry conditions
The National Water Commission (NWC) says the drier than normal conditions across the island has forced it to implement various water management measures.
The commission says very little rainfall was experienced during May and June, and that coupled with the higher demand as a result of the hot, dry conditions, its systems are now very low.
It says as a result of the drought management measures are being implemented and will affect NWC customers served by the Hermitage/Constant Spring Water Supply System as well as the Hope Water Supply System.
These customers will have no piped water between 10:00 at nights and 4:00 in the mornings until conditions improve.
And the NWC says it has already convened a meeting of the drought management committee to review and decide on mitigation measures.
