Veteran dancehall artiste Shabba Ranks was almost brought to tears after being honoured by the Reggae Sumfest organisers and the Jamaica 50 Committee.
In front of an appreciative jam-packed Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex, Shabba Ranks, returning from long hiatus from the festival, had earlier given a memorable performance.
"All the people who have held up the Shabba Ranks torch all these years, respect," he said.
"It’s not only gunshot can come from the ghetto, I am a natural proof of ghetto progress."
