Attorney for Sean Kinghorn lambasts police

The lawyer representing defence attorney Sean Kinghorn is criticising the police for the way the case against him was handled.

Mr Kinghorn, his secretary Ruth Spencer and St Catherine farmer Linton Campbell were arrested on Friday on charges of forgery and conspiracy to defraud.

The charges stem from allegations that they illegally created a will for a St Ann woman in 2008.

But attorney at law Danielle Archer, who is representing Mr Kinghorn, says the police had no legal basis on which to file the charges.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Miss Archer said police investigators ignored advice to seek legal opinion before laying charges.

She says Mr Kinghorn's reputation has suffered irreparable damage and wants the police to be held responsible for it.

All three have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on August 21.
