Road Safety Unit warns party revelers

Days before the start of the Jamaica 50 celebrations and the popular ATI Dream Week party series, the Road Safety Unit of the Ministry of Transport is appealing to revelers to act responsibly on the roadways.

Since the start of the year, 142 persons have been killed on the nation’s roads. This is a 19 per cent drop from the 175 road fatalities recorded for the corresponding period last year.

In a statement released yesterday, the Road Safety Unit said it wants patrons to enjoy themselves, but reminded them to identify a designated driver who should be licensed and who should remain sober.
