Ministry outraged at planned nude party at primary school
The Education Ministry is expressing outrage after learning that a primary school has been named as the venue for a nude party.
The party dubbed, the naked Jaggerthon, was slated to be held at the Shortwood Practising Primary School in St Andrew.
A flyer for the event lists a variety of prizes for naked couples.
It also says the party is being put on by the alumni of the University of the West Indies and the University of Technology (UTech).
But an officer of the UWI alumni association, Charmaine Wright denied any knowledge of the party.
'Tony' was listed as a contact person and a number provided for him, but the man who answered that number said his name was David and that he had no knowledge of the event.
Red Label Wine was also listed as a sponsor but the label’s distributor, Wray and Nephew says it is not sponsoring the event.
The General Manager for Corporate Affairs, Greta Bouges says her initial investigation reveals that the company is not behind this party.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister, Ronald Thwaites says the event is contrary to the Ministry’s standards. |
