HORSE RACING: Raise A Ruckus for Nunes Memorial

Melton Williams, Gleaner Writer

Midweek racing continues at Caymanas Park today with the programme featuring the Nigel B. Nunes Memorial Cup over 1820 metres.

The American five-year-old horse RAISE A RUCKUS is expected to win from the classic-winning three-year-old colt UNCLE DONNY.

RAISE A RUCKUS is down in class after parading with the best horses in the country such as MARK MY WORD, SAINT CECELIA, MISS MYRTLE BOY RICHIE and EMPEROR HALL.

Now with none of those runners around, RAISE A RUCKUS looks hard to oppose with Winston Griffiths as the jockey.

UNCLE DONNY, to be ridden by champion jockey Dick Cardenas, is out for the first time since his strong second to the unbeaten TYPEWRITER in the July 7 St Leger over 2000 metres.

The six-horse field also includes the Peter McMaster-trained NYABINGHI, who is coming of a recent course win.

There are eight other races on the programme and post time is 1:30 in the afternoon.
