An elderly woman who is believed to be of unsound mind died this morning from injuries she sustained in a hit-and-run incident along the Spanish Town By-Pass in St Catherine.

She has been identified as 81-year-old Inez Williams.

The Spanish Town Police report that Williams was hit by a motorcar travelling towards Kingston.

She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The police have launched an investigation to identify the driver of the vehicle.
