The National Education Trust (NET) says it is looking to create more partnerships to engage in the construction and upgrading of schools.

Chief Executive Officer of the NET, Paul Matalon, says to achieve this, the Trust is looking to enhance its collaboration with the church and the diaspora community.

Seeking to explain the new thrust, Matalon points out that there has been a rebirth of the partnerships with the various churches and says education has been the largest beneficiary of diaspora grants in the last 40 years.

However, he says in carrying out its work, the NET will seek to raise funds on the private market so as to minimise government spending.

The NET was established by the Government in 2010 to work with the private sector and non-government organisations to raise funds for the development and maintenance of the country’s educational infrastructure.
