Alleged Hannah Town arsonists back in court
Jerome Reynolds, Gleaner Writer
The four men charged in connection with the attack on the Hannah Town Police Station, during the 2010 West Kingston unrest are to return to court today.
Dwayne Robinson, Anthony Lawes, Calvin Bernard and Craig Dawson are before the Gun Court on charges of shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.
When the matter was mentioned on June 22, their attorneys complained that the men have been in custody for more than two years and have appeared for a hearing 20 times.
They also took issue with the fact that the main prosecution witness has never attended court.
During the west Kingston unrest, heavily armed gunmen stormed the Hannah Town police station which had been recently refurbished and shot it up.
The heavy gunfire forced police personnel at the station to evacuate the building and shortly after, it was set ablaze.
Following investigations, the four men were arrested and later charged with the firearm-related offences.
