Health Ministry denies input in controversial document
The Health Ministry has come out in support of the decision taken by the Ministry of Education to withdraw sections of the Health and Family Life Education Curriculum for some secondary students.
The Ministry of Health is dismissing reports that the National HIV/STI Programme had any input in the controversial document.
Education Minister Ronald Thwaites has already ordered that the book, which has questionable homosexual connotations and age-inappropriate sexual content, should be pulled from the school system.
In a statement released yesterday, the Health Ministry said it supports age appropriate information on sexuality and sexual health being given to children.
