A Kingston-based medical lab is now facing legal action over the dismissal of the wife of the alleged St. Thomas killer cop, Corporal Dwayne Smart.
Attorney-at-law, Valerie Neita-Robertson said the woman was dismissed because her boss claims she poses a safety risk for the staff at the facility.
Neita-Robertson is also the attorney for corporal Smart.
She said legal action will be taken against the Kingston-based company.
She said the cop’s wife was fired last week.
Earlier reports indicated that the police had to offer protection for Smart’s wife and children, following the shooting death of 27-year-old Kayon Lamont and the injuring of her sister on September 1 allegedly by Corporal Smart.
Corporal Smart was denied bail last week and is scheduled to return to court on October 16.
In making his bail application, Neita-Robertson had said her client was attacked by a mob.
