VMBS hosts mortgage forum in Canada
The Victoria Mutual Building Society will be holding a two-day housing forum in Canada today and tomorrow, targeting Jamaicans and other Caribbean nationals who are seeking to invest in real estate in Jamaica.
The forum, being held under the theme ‘mortgage talk time’, takes place in Scarborough this evening and in Toronto tomorrow afternoon, the Society said in a release.
Denise Sinclair, VMBS chief representative officer, said the Society “saw this as an opportune time to reach out to the members of the diaspora, in light of the recent extension of our special Jamaica 50 mortgage offering.”
Persons residing in Canada are able to access mortgages through VMBS at a special interest rate of 6.85 per cent on foreign currency mortgages, or 9.39 per cent on Jamaican dollar mortgages.
VMBS “mortgage talk time” will provide expert advice on buying homes in Jamaica and how to access a mortgage.
