Downtown residents get bathroom facilities
Several families in Central Kingston, Tivoli Gardens, Denham Town, Hannah Town and Fletcher's Land are now able to enjoy proper bathroom facilities with the donation of 100 sanitation units.
The sanitary conveniences were constructed and provided through the PetroCaribe Sanitation Project-Phase II at a cost of approximately $109 million.
Beneficiaries were selected if they had no toilets or had sub-standard sanitation units.
All the households have at least two children under seven years old, or an elderly or disabled person.
Under the project, toilets, face basins, laundry basins, electrical fixtures and fittings were installed in the communities and households connected to the existing sewer systems.
