JEEP funds to repair roads
Funds from the Jamaica Emergency employment Programme (JEEP), are to be used to fix several roadways, which were damaged by the heavy rains and flooding over the last three days.
More than 100 roadways were affected by the weekend rains.
Of that number seven remain impassable.
Communications Manager at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, said the bridge in Kintyre, St Andrew will be replaced under JEEP.
In the meantime, Shaw said the agency is working to reopen those roadways which remain blocked in Portland, St Thomas and St Andrew.
He said the agency is also working to have the Fern Gully Main Road in St Ann reopened to single lane traffic shortly.
