Rice truck overturns on Spur Tree Hill, man’s legs crushed

One man was seriously injured along the Spur Tree Hill main road in Manchester this morning after jumping from a truck in which he was travelling because the vehicle had developed mechanical difficulties.
According to reports, the truck being driven by Howard Linton of a Portmore address in St Catherine, was the truck loaded with bags of rice.
The vehicle was travelling down the hill with two side men when it reportedly developed brake problem.
The driver then reportedly lost control of the truck.
One of the sidemen on sighting this, jumped out of the truck.
The truck ran over both of his legs crushing them before overturning approximately 200 metres down the road.
The driver and the other sideman escaped injuries.
The injured man was taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where he is said to be in serious condition.
