NWA closes the Dunrobin Avenue/Dukharan Intersection

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that effective 9 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2012, the Intersection of Dunrobin Avenue and Dukharan Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic. This as the NWA intensifies efforts to construct a paved concrete drain across the span of this intersection.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says the closure will be in effect for a period of 10 days and will result in the following traffic changes:
· All traffic will be prohibited from entering Dukharan Avenue from Dunrobin Avenue.
· Exit from Dukharan Avenue onto Dunrobin Avenue will also be prohibited.
· Motorists wishing to access or exit Dukharan Avenue via Dunrobin Avenue will, therefore, be asked to do so via Lindsay Crescent.

Shaw says the works being undertaken at the intersection of Dunrobin and Dukharan Avenues form part of remedial activities for the Washington Boulevard/Dunrobin Avenue Improvement Project, and are being undertaken by contractors Surrey Paving and Aggregates Company Limited. Full vehicular access will be restored to the Dunrobin Avenue/Dukharan Avenue Intersection at 6 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012.

The National Works Agency is advising affected persons to obey all posted warning signs and flag persons, deployed to the area, during the period of closure.
