The Linstead police in St Catherine are searching for two men who were disarmed of an illegal gun while attempting to rob a female of her Samsung Tablet on Saturday night.

The men, one of who had the gun, reportedly attempted to rob the woman about 8:30 p.m.

The incident caught the attention of a 19-year-old man who intervened, overpowered the man with the .38 revolver and wrested the weapon from him.

The gunmen then reportedly fled.

The police say they were called to the scene and the gun handed over to them.

In recent week Linstead has been under threat by robbers.
