Dengue fight to resume in wake of Sandy
The Ministry of Health has resumed its vector control operations, which had been suspended, due to the passage of Hurricane Sandy.
Director of Emergency Disaster Management and Special Services in the Ministry, Dr. Marion Bullock Ducasse, says teams have been deployed to assist in destroying mosquito breeding sites.
And she says spraying and fogging have also resumed.
But she is encouraging citizens to play their part in ensuring that they protect themselves and their families from dengue.
Dengue fever is a severe flu-like viral disease transmitted by the aedes aegypti mosquito.
