Probe into exam-cheating cop complete
The probe into allegations that a superintendent of police was caught cheating on an external exam at the Police Staff College has been completed.
However, the findings and recommendations have not yet been turned over to Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington.
The superintendent has since been transferred from the Anti-Corruption Branch where he was assigned at the time of the alleged incident in August.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Delworth Heath, who heads the Inspectorate of Constabulary says the findings and the recommendations were not turned over to Ellington because investigators wanted to give the disciplinary board of the Police Staff College more time to complete its own probe.
He declined to discuss the findings or the recommendations made by the Inspectorate.
The superintendent, who is an 18-year veteran of the force, was allegedly caught cheating while sitting an associate degree exam at the Police Staff College.
