America pledges US$150,000 for Sandy relief in Jamaica
The United States Government has pledged US$150,000 for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in Jamaica.
A release from the United States Embassy says the US ambassador to Jamaica, Pamela Bridgewater, advised Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller of the donation today.
The US ambassador says the assistance is being provided based on the determination that Jamaica’s government requires the support of its friends to effectively respond to the natural disaster.
The assistance is to be provided through the United States Agency for International Development and the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance.
